Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires is a standalone expansion to Dynasty Warriors 8/Xtreme Legends.

As well the addition of the new character Xun Yun, the entire Xtreme Legends roster will appear in Empires. Empire Mode will now include all new dramatic events while the Fame system has been tweaked to allow the option to explore different play styles.

The 3rd iteration of Dynasty Warriors 8 brings the player all the hack and slash action we've grown to love, along with precise expansions on gameplay and graphics.
