Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops redefines the stealth action genre for handheld gaming systems with an original storyline that follows from the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and boasts ground-breaking online play that lets gamers recruit comrades to form a unique fighting force.
The single-player campaign of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops follows the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as Naked Snake establishes FOXHOUND in an attempt to hunt down the treacherous FOX unit, which has started a bloody revolt in South America. Set in 1970, the game will be the missing link in the ongoing Metal Gear saga, as players will learn more about returning characters such as Para-Medic, Major Zero and Sigint and also witness Naked Snake's greatest tragedy – a loss that sets into motion the events of later games in the Metal Gear Solid timeline.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops delivers the series' trademark stealth-based action to PSPTM while introducing several new elements that add even more depth and variety to Naked Snake's new adventure. Using an intuitive new third-person camera that is optimised for handheld play, gamers will be able to see more of Snake's surroundings, identifying threats while also targeting the best areas for sneaking and hiding. The story of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops will be told through fully voiced cinematics featuring 3D models and original artwork by acclaimed illustrator Ashley Wood.
As players progress through the single player campaign of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, they can recruit comrades to create their own fighting unit. In addition to regular enemies and soldiers, players can also recruit unique NPCs depending on their actions in key situations, building an armed force to fit their style of play. Through the wireless capabilities of the PSP system, players can also search for volunteer soldiers via wireless access points.
- Refining the gameplay of the online multiplayer mode from Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops lets players engage in online skirmishes through the PSP system's wireless infrastructure functionality.
- Players will be able to use their squadron from the single-player portion of the game as well as recruiting new members and trading with other players, unleashing their distinctive abilities and wreaking havoc across the game's numerous multiplayer levels.
- Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops also introduces a new "White Flag" system to the game's multiplayer modes, letting players choose to surrender and live to fight again in each round or fight to the death until the next game begins. Placing emphasis on stealth gameplay, the White Flag System further evolves online play for the Metal Gear series and creates a bond between the player and their team as they work together to achieve their objectives.

A place that was forgotten from history, where humans, elves, dwarfs, halflings and other various races lived together in harmony…it was a paradise, surrounded by deep green forests and crystal clear streams.
However, the roar of the demons tore apart their peaceful lives. It was the return of the Dark Lord, the previous ruler of the land, which sparked a new round of battles which would eventually encompass all the races.
After years of fierce fighting, the Dark Lord was sealed away by the hands of the hero, Rastul. But from the blood of the demons, the land had been cursed and the sky lost its light. The cursed land entrapped the people, making every waking moment feel like an eternity. Eventually the land once known as a paradise came to be known as "The Cursed Land."

Enter Pimp City, where bling is king and speed is everything. On these streets, if your car isn’t fully pimped out, you’d be better off walking. You and Xzibit will take on the challenge of hooking up your homies and transforming their hoopties, buckets and beaters into the hottest whips on the street, while redlining through the streets and alleyways of Pimp City. You choose the mods, you choose the route, but pimpin’ ain’t easy. It will take speed and style to hook them up. Do you have what it takes to Pimp their Ride?
- Authentic People, Broken Rides – On each mission, Xzibit will introduce you to a Pimp City peep in desperate need to have his/her ride (and life) pimped. Each personality you meet will have a different hooptie, beater, or bucket that you’ll be in charge of pimping out. You’re success comes when you best capture their styles, likes and interests in how you pimp out their ride. No part of this car is off-limits from the ground-up, bumper-to-bumper, inside and out. You’ll then reconnect with X to the Z when your pimped creation is revealed to the customer to gauge how good of a pimp job you did.
- Outrageous Customizations – While the 32” rims, super low-pro treads, phat paint jobs, and bass pumping audio systems are there for your pimping pleasure, this game goes beyond the commonplace bling. You’ll be tricking out rides with everything from a mechanical bull to a retractable breakaway basketball hoop and everything in between. In true Pimp My Ride fashion, you’ll find off the hook modifications not for your typical ride in this game.
- Intense, High-RPM Street Racing – Hooking up your homies’ rides isn’t your only challenge. You’ll be battling the clock, so you’ll only have so much time to do the job. Redline your vehicles to the paint, body, and bling shops located throughout Pimp City’s boroughs in an effort to assemble the most pimped out ride in a very limited amount of time. And each borough is a free-roam environment. You’ll choose the shortcuts and you’ll choose the modifications, but you’ll be at the mercy of the clock. Oh yeah, one more thing….a rival shop will be competing to win the personality’s favor by pimping out a similar ride while a rogue member of that rival shop has been tasked with ramming and slamming his way into preventing you from reaching your next stop. You better have driving and racing skills in addition to pimping skills.
- Ghost Ride The Whip – One of the ways for you to earn the cash to pimp the cars is to Ghost Ride The Whip. In this mini-game, you will be required to execute dance moves along side your ride while it’s moving next to you in drive. You accomplish this with controller-button sequences mixed with timing. The more flawlessly you execute your moves, the more props and cash you receive. Don’t worry, all the in-game dance moves were performed by professional hip-hip dancers with motion capture technology so you’ll look like a pro as long as you game like a pro.
- Roll With Xzibit – Fully interact with X to the Z as he guides you through every stage of the pimping process. The hip-hop artist and host of the MTV show was digitally scanned and he co-wrote and recorded the voiceovers for his character. You will see, hear, and interact with the true Xzibit and experience the same hilarity that he lends to the show. He has also lent four tracks from his latest CD to the soundtrack for the game.

During gameplay, players will have access to online and offline missions, supported with a variety of weapons that are unique and innovative, inspired by modern military equipment
In Killzone: Liberation, two months after the events of Killzone, most of southern Vekta is still under Helghast control. The rules of war have been cast aside with the Helghast General, Metrac, employing brutal measures in order to seize the initiative and strengthen his position further. Returning as Templar, players will be sent on a mission to undertake a covert operation to save hostages captured by Metrac, while ISA troops continue the fight for liberty.
- Unique Third Person Camera: This new intelligent camera system gives the player the best overview capturing all of the intense action, enabling them to make tactical decisions before engaging in a firefight.
- New and Returning Characters: The player reprises the role of the battle hardened Templar (although other familiar characters appear including Rico) as he attempts to save ISA hostages taken captive by the evil General Metrac and leads the battle to gain the liberation of Southern Vekta. The player will have to overcome all new Helghast enemies including bodyguards (complete with riot shield defence) and trained killer dogs.
- Missions: The fight against the new, sinister General spans over 16 missions in a variety of new environments.
- Weaponry: Players will be able to utilize a wide range of weaponry including sniper rifles and a crossbow with explosive tipped arrows and more.
- Tactical Command System: At specific points in the game, players will be able to use a new Tactical Command System to give orders to an AI buddy during frantic firefights.
- Vehicles: Killzone: Liberation also allows players to drive vehicles including tanks and hovercrafts to help defeat the powerful and intelligent enemy.
- Challenge Games: Players can compete in challenge games to sharpen their skills and earn new abilities.
- Multiplayer Functionality: The multiplayer functionality in Killzone: Liberation takes full advantage of the wireless capabilities of the PSP hardware, with two distinct styles of gameplay: 1) Two player cooperative gameplay in the single player mission 2) One to six player games over six multiplayer maps.
- Gameshare Mode: Killzone: Liberation will feature gameshare mode where players can share demo levels of the game with other PSP system owners.
