There are new game modes and new ways to develop your characters. In the Macross F chapters, you get to go to school with Ranka Lee, Sheryl Nome and meet your friends in peaceful or comical settings. What you do with yourself in this mode affects your character's statistics when you bring him into the Campaign mode, so be sure to spend some time in school.
