Ys: I & II Chronicles is a PSP remake of the first two games of the critically-acclaimed Ys series. The graphics have been reimagined in highly-detailed hand-drawn 2D and the soundtrack newly rearranged, while returning fans have the option of playing with the original music or using alternative character art. Four difficulty levels and a time trial mode have also been added, making this the definitive version of the legendary series’ origin.

At the beginning of the Ys saga, a mysterious red-headed boy named Adol Christin is found washed ashore in the land of Esteria – the first traveler to reach the Esterians in half a year, ever since the appearance of a mysterious barrier of storms around the island cut it off from the outside world. He is taken in by a young man in the port town of Minea as he recovers from the shipwreck. Once healthy, he is called upon by the local fortune-teller, who recognizes him as “The Chosen One,” and tells him of the six Books of Ys. These historic books contain ancient secrets which Adol must uncover to overcome the evil that’s sweeping the land. Adol’s journey begins with a simple quest to find more information about these mysterious books, but quickly balloons into a deadly climb up a demonic tower to reach the mythical floating continent of Ys itself.

His adventure continues in Ys II as he finally reaches the floating continent and sets off to perilously fulfill his fated role in this land’s lore. Adol rushes into the depths of the once-sacred Palace of Solomon – now a monsters’ nest – to stop the mastermind behind all the ills of Esteria and Ys and reunite the two lands, breathing new life into the monster-infested countryside. Along the way he must master the lost art of magic, transform himself into a fuzzy kangaroo-like creature, slide down icy slopes, prevent a human sacrifice, cross paths with a friendly monster, and much more!

The kingdom of Altago is rebuilding their kingdom around a newfound peace after years of war against the merciless armies of Romn. Ys Seven is the latest installment in the long-running Ys series which first debuted on PC in 1987. Double Dungeons is a dungeon role-playing game. Two players can play at the same time. There are 22 unique scenarios, spread out among six levels. The higher the level is, the harder the scenario. Because each scenario is independent, players can choose to start the game from any scenario other than the final one. Players defeat monsters in each dungeon to gain experience while searching for the "key" that opens the door to the room with the boss. They buy equipment at the shop, team up with characters and defeat the boss to clear a scenario. Players must conquer all 21 scenarios from levels 1 through 5 to obtain passwords. If they obtain all of them, they make their way to the final scenario.

Dungeon Explorer is a multiplayer action/role-playing game where up to five players can play at the same time. The story takes place in underground dungeons. Players can choose from eight different character types: Fighter, Thief, Warlock, Witch, Bishop, Elf, Bard or Knome. Depending on the character, the types of magic, attack strength and movement will all vary. To survive, players must know all about their enemies' weaknesses. Players also must know about the special attributes of each magic spell and use them to their greatest advantage.

At first glance, Dungeon Explorer II looks nearly identical to its predecessor, using most of the same graphics and practically identical mechanics. Indeed, on the surface there's not much different, but what is there has been improved quite a bit. There are eight character classes at the beginning, just like the first game: Fighter, Thief, Wizard, Cleric, Bard, Hunter, Dwarf, and Elf. Each has a set name this time, although you can rename them if you want. Partway through the game, you can also upgrade them to an more powerful variation (Fighter becomes a Knight, Thief becomes a Rogue, etc.) It also expands on the hidden characters from the first game, by offering an additional seven characters to find and play as, bringing the total roster to sixteen. These include a Witch, Monk, Princess, Robot (!!), Engineer, and Beast. It's also a subtle improvement, but the character movement animation is also a bit smoother.

The game is a bit less linear than its predecessor, offering several subquests for additional items and experience, and features a much longer game in general. There are a few new items to be found, including one that repels enemies, and another that causes your weapons to bounce off walls. The towns also include a game where you can play Blackjack with the Grim Reaper, allowing you to gain or lose lives depending on your luck. The fully narrated intro (the North American version's acting was produced by Working Designs, meaning it's much better than your average English dubbing) tells the story of the downfall of Natas, but introduces a new enemy to destroy. The cinema graphics aren't that impressive, but the anime portraits when finding a new character are welcome. The cover artwork is also provided by fantasy artist Takuhito Kusanagi. The CD soundtrack is beyond fantastic, an impressive collection of synth rock that fit perfectly aside any of Falcom's Ys games. Which makes sense, considering it's composed by Yoshio Tsuru, who provided arrangements for many Falcom albums.

Dungeon Explorer II is definitely a much better game than the original, even if, outside of the awesome music, it doesn't take huge advantage of the CD format, other than offering a slightly more involved quest. The Japanese version is easy to find, but the North American release is extremely uncommon, and is one of the more expensive releases on the system (along with Bonk III, although not quite as pricey as Dynastic Hero.) It can also be found on the Wii Virtual Console.

It's just another day in modern Tokyo. A cute schoolgirl (or schoolboy, if you're so inclined to choose) is walking down a metallic pathway, when suddenly, robotic ape/lizard hybrids leap from nowhere, only to be slashed in twain with your sword that leaves a shower of sparkles in its wake. Reinforcements come in from all sides as you continue to press your way to the right. A large humanoid robot attacks, its lanky limbs forcing you to keep your distance. You hold your attack button, and after a moment you unleash your full power.

A ball of energy rockets forth, defeating the robot and immobilizing it, but not destroying it. You climb into it, and take the controls. Bounding forward, the enemies that once caused a little trouble are completely decimated by your robot's newfound ability to blast the foes with tongues of lightning.

Sequel to Moto Roader. Abandoned future-lite style of the first game for a hard sci-fi look. In addition to a car, players can now race as tanks or hovercraft.

Play through a total of 18 Olympic events in this action/sports title. Players compete in six categories of events that include shooting, archery, rowing, swimming and track and field. The game features Olympics mode, where you play all the events over the course of a few days, and Training mode, where you can choose individual events to play. After practicing in Training mode, go for the gold in Olympics mode and break world records. Depending on your play time and ability, you can enjoy the game a number of different ways. Gather friends and play in competitions with up to five players to get even more out of this game.
