You live in a world inhabited by large blocks, and your only purpose in life is to eliminate them. You accomplish this by setting traps to destroy the nefarious cubes. Red traps will destroy one block at a time; destroy a green cube and earn a green trap, which destroy the blocks in a three-by-three area. Beware of the black cubes, though, because destroying one will remove part of the platform you are standing on. If you don't destroy the cubes fast enough, they roll to your location and push you off the edge. Once all of the cubes are gone, you will advance to the next level, where the platform is wider and the cubes move much faster. For the social types out there, there is a two-player mode where challengers take on eight different stages to see who can earn the best score. Harry Mason and his daughter Cheryl are heading to a small midwestern resort town. Suddenly, Harry sees a dark figure in the street and swerves to avoid it, causing a serious accident. You must guide Harry through the town while he searches for his daughter and tries to discover what happened in this strange community. Along the way, you will explore a hospital, elementary school, and the streets of the town. Since Harry is an ordinary guy, he will have to catch his breath after running and will often miss his target when shooting. The entire game is given a frightening feeling with eerie lighting effects especially since the town is dark and the vast majority of lighting comes from a flashlight. Metal Slug is a side-scrolling military-action game. Players control Marco and Tarma, both members of the special-ops force Team Peregrine Falcon (commonly known as Team PF), and battle their way through stage after stage of intense action. The goal is to try to overthrow General Morden and win back the stolen weapon, the Metal Slug. Players must blast through waves of enemies and machines (while also jumping over any obstacles in the way) to advance through the stages. It's not as hopeless as it might sound, though -- weapons such as heavy machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers and flamethrowers, as well as the Metal Slug itself (which appears frequently in the game), will make the battle easier. Take on General Morden with a friend to lighten your load and ramp up the excitement even more.
